Builder Manly Davidson, who had built Isaiah Flagg's house, also went with the Second Empire style for this home a few doors down. He lived here briefly as the owner defaulted on payments.

In 1872 the home was sold to furneture salesman John Mckee. Mckee would live here until his death in 1896.
