The Peninsular Building

In 1869 Nicholas Baumann erected a fine three story Italianate building where Portage intersected with Main St. called the Peninsular Building. In its early years it was home to Parson's Business College. However, in 1892 Samuel Folz established his clothing store here. For years the building was referred to as 'Folz's Corner'. The building's exterior was drastically altered in the late 1920's.
