The
red brick gothic inspired Jannasch-Shortt
Musical Institute was built in 1878 by the respected
Charles Jannasch for his daughter Anna. It was built on the
same block as his earlier Button & Jannasch Building.
Anna
Jannasch was a skilled musician and music teacher at one of
the village ward schools. and she estabished a musical institute
in the building. She would teach music in the structure from
1878 to 1909. Today the only reminder of its past is the musically
inspired frieze.
