Scaffolding
covers the facade of the 1896 Hall Building.
This E. Michigan landmark is home to Kalamazoo's oldest continiously
operating restaurant, Coney Island.
In
1906 the upper floors were converted
to a hotel of about 44 rooms. Glass panels found in the attic
suggest the name Hotel Reed. The
1939 city directory identifies the Hotel
Windser.
The
upper floors have been vacant since
the 1970's. Bound to be rehabed, for the moment they are frozen
in time. Select the detour to take a tour.
