The Kalamazoo Public Library

Before the present structure was built this Romanesque fortress housed Kalamazoo's Public Library. Designed by the Chicago firm of Patton & Fischer, the building contained marble flooring, oak woodwork, and stained glass. The building soon suffered from overcrowding.

The building was demolished in 1958. Its stain glass has been incorporated into the design of the new Library.
